Zschape, 37, has said little since she turned herself in to authorities in November 2011, a week after two other members of her gang, the National Socialist Underground, were found dead by police after an attempted bank robbery, the German online news portal The Local reported Monday.
She has been held in prison in Cologne, Germany, but told Monday told Federal Criminal Police Office staff, escorting her to a visit with her mother and grandmother, she was prepared to make a statement as a method of apology, the newspaper Bild reported.
Of the three people implicated in the deaths of the men, which occurred between 2000 and 2007, Zschape is the last survivor.
