JAJI, Nigeria, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Two car bombs targeted a church inside a military barracks in Nigeria's Kaduna state Sunday, killing several people and injuring others, officials said.

The attack happened in the northern village of Jaji, the BBC reported.

A military spokesman said two vehicles were driven into the barracks in what he described as "surprising and an embarrassment."

"The first blast caused no casualties and curious worshipers gathered around the scene looking at the debris... and that was when the second blast happened," the military spokesman said.

It's still unclear how many casualties there were or who was responsible, but the army suspects Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which has recently targeted churches in the state, is to blame.
