Iran president: Cease-fire a Hamas victory

Nov. 24, 2012 at 1:41 PM   |   Comments

TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday the cease-fire in Gaza shows Israel has reached "the end of the road."

Ahmadinejad spoke by telephone with Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader who was dismissed as Palestinian prime minister in 2007 by President Mahmoud Abbas, the government broadcaster Press TV reported.

"Zionists have reached the end of the road and have no choice but to recognize and yield to the absolute right of the Palestinian nation," Ahmadinejad told Haniyeh.

Iran is one of Hamas' major international sponsors.
