FRIESLAND, Netherlands, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Netherlands police said they arrested one of nearly 6,600 men who gave DNA samples in an investigation of the 1999 rape and slaying of a 16-year-old girl.

The DNA of the man, identified as Jasper S. 44, matches that found on the victim's body, investigators said.

The suspect was one of nearly 6,600 men who voluntarily gave DNA samples to police investigating the death of Marianne Vaatstra, whose body was found near Friesland, DutchNews.nl reported Monday.

Jasper S., a farmer from the village of Oudwoude, is married and has two children, The Telegraaf reported.
