Cunyet Unal of the al-Hurra television channel arrived in Turkey Sunday after being turned over to Turkish diplomats.
Unal told reporters in Istanbul he had been locked in a jail cell during his detention but was otherwise treated well.
Unal and his al-Hurra colleague, Bashar Fahmi Kadumi of Jordan, were captured in Aleppo Aug. 20 during fighting that left Kadumi wounded and Japanese reporter Mika Yamamato dead.
Turkey's Today's Zaman said the Turkish delegation had expected to bring Kadumi out of Syria as well, but he was not turned over. The report said Syrian provided no information about his status.
"We have been told that we will be given information about Kadumi's state in the next 24 hours," said Refik Eryilmaz, a Turkish lawmaker and member of the Syria delegation. "We are expecting information from the Syrian authorities at any moment, but all we know so far is that he has been injured."
