LIVERPOOL, England, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- An alleged Basque terrorist sought by the Spanish government since 1995 has been arrested in Britain.
Merseyside Police, working with the Spanish police and the intelligence agency MI6, took Raul Angel Fuentes Villota, 56,
into custody Friday in Liverpool, The Independent reported. He was allegedly living in Britain with false papers.
The Spanish Interior Ministry describes Villota as a member of ETA, the Euskara acronym for "Basque Homeland and Freedom." He has allegedly carried out several killings and other crimes.
