Turkish guns hidden in shipment to Yemen

ADEN, Yemen, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Illegal weapons were discovered hidden in food containers originating in Turkey at a port city in Yemen, government officials said.

Customs officers in the southern Yemeni city of Aden said pistols were hidden inside biscuit boxes and said the country has opened an investigation. A Turkish customs official said that country would investigate the matter as well, Today's Zaman reported.

Iranian television cited a Yemeni Defense Ministry report, saying the weapons were "destined to harm the security and stability of Yemen."
