KISMAYO, Somalia, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- A bomb killed four soldiers in the Somalian port city of Kismayo, the day after al-Shabaab terrorists launched a mortar attack against ships in the harbor.

The roadside bombing occurred Monday at an airport and targeted Kenyan soldiers serving under the African Union mission in Somalia, the Shabelle Media Network reported Monday, adding that several people were injured and that no arrest had been made.

The mortar fire Sunday evening was aimed at ships carrying weapons for the Kenyan army, the news agency said, noting al-Shabaab, a group aligned in Somalia with al-Qaida, left the Kismayo area last month without resistance, after two months of heavy offensives from Somali and African Union forces.
