3 Egyptian police officers killed in Sinai

Nov. 3, 2012 at 9:02 PM   |   Comments

SINAI, Egypt, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Three Egyptian police officers were killed Saturday in the Sinai, officials said.

Three more officers were injured in an attack in Al-Arish, Ahram Online reported.

A source told Ahram the assault may have been payback for the deaths of three men killed by police last week.

Sinai, which borders Israel and Gaza, has become increasingly violent recently. The area also has a large population of Bedouin tribesmen who feel they are overlooked by the government.
