MOGADISHU, Somalia, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A young journalist died a week after being shot several times in front of his house in Mogadishu, Somalia, his family said.
Mohamed Mohamud Turyare, 22, died at a Mogadishu hospital Sunday night, the Shabelle Media Network reported.

Turyare was attacked Oct. 21 by unknown gunmen and shot three times, police said.
About 17 Somali journalists have been killed this year, mostly in attacks by gunmen who were not caught, authorities said.
