VILNIUS, Lithuania, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Lithuania's Social Democrats were predicting solid gains after the polls closed in Sunday's runoff election.
The leader of the party, Algirdas Butkevicius, told reporters after casting his ballot he expected Lithuania's next government coalition "will be center-left."
The Lithuania Tribune said Butkevicius planned to meet late Sunday with the party's board of directors to discuss possible expansion of the Social Democrats' relationship with other parties, including Labor and Order and Justice.
"If there is willingness to speak to someone else, we should inform all partners," he said.
The Tribune said Butkevicius declined to talk about the possibility of becoming Lithuania's next prime minister.
"I think we'll be able to discuss that at around midnight," he said.
