EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A human head was found in an alley in Edmonton, Alberta, Wednesday, police said.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police was investigating the grisly discovery made by police. The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said its sources said the head was that of a man and was directly linked to a body found last weekend near Ranfurly, Alberta.

Roseanne Rochette, who lives near where the head was found, told the CBC she had seen the garbage bag the night before but didn't give it much thought.

"It wasn't much. I mean, it was garbage in a back alley, what I seen, and I thought nothing of it," said Rochette, who had police knocking on her door Wednesday.

"It's eerie. Terrifying. ... Way too close for comfort."
