3.5 magnitude quake shakes Italy

NAPLES, Italy, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- A 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook southern Italy Thursday, sending people onto the streets in several towns near Naples, officials said.

Thursday's quake did not cause any damage, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

The affected area has been hit by a "seismic swarm" that has produce more than 600 tremors in the past two years, the news service said.
