Spain cracks down on Chinese mob

MADRID, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Police in Spain arrested more than 100 people in a countrywide crackdown on Chinese mafia operations, officials said Tuesday.

The suspects arrested reportedly include a Madrid police lawyer and a male porno actor, thinkSpain said.

Police sources told the Spanish news website the mob's suspected ringleader, Gao Ping, was among those detained during raids at 120 separate premises, including restaurants and karaoke bars.

The suspects are accused of money laundering, extortion, human trafficking and fraud related to the sale of international goods.

Arrests were made in Madrid, Costa del Sol, Barcelona, Basque County and Castilla y Leon, thinkSpain said.
