Group: Police not hunting tree vandals

JERUSALEM, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- An Israeli human rights group says Israeli police have failed to act on more than 160 cases of vandalism to West Bank orchards reported by Palestinians.

The Yesh Din -- Volunteers for Human Rights -- said the incidents have been reported in the past seven years yet there has been only one indictment, Ynetnews reported.

In a report issued Thursday, the group said the trees were damaged, uprooted, cut down and their fruit stolen.

The report coincides with the start of the olive-picking season.
