VALENCIA, Spain, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- A small plane bound for Valencia, Spain, crashed shortly after taking off from Innsbruck, Austria, killing five passengers and the pilot, authorities said.

The plane went down in the Tirol region of Austria early Sunday, ThinkSpain reported.

Bad weather in the area of the crash created poor visibility.

Emergency workers said they found one passenger walking around when rescuers reached the crash site. Another was seriously injured and had to be taken by helicopter to a hospital.

Everyone else died in the crash, which started a small forest fire.
