Indonesia Muslims protest at U.S. Embassy

JAKARTA, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Protesters in Indonesia called on the United States to charge the producer of an anti-Islam Internet video.

Several thousand protesters rallied peacefully outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta Sunday to demand the United States take legal action against the creator of the video "Innocence of Muslims."

"We will conduct a peaceful protest, but we want the world to know that the movie insults our prophet," said Indra, a leader of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the largest Islamic political party in Indonesia.

Indra said PKS members from across Jakarta took part in the march. Previous, largely peaceful protests at the embassy were organized by other smaller Islamic parties, the Jakarta Post said.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, the filmmaker alleged to be behind the inflammatory video that sparked rioting across the Muslim world was arrested Thursday in California for alleged probation violations.
