BONN, Germany, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A German man was fatally stabbed apparently by his former girlfriend, whom investigators said they found bound and tortured when they discovered the man's body.
Police said the woman, identified only as Renata B., apparently managed to stab her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jurgen S., when she went to his Bornheim home to collect her things and he tied her up and started torturing her, the German version of The Local reported Thursday.
Police investigators from nearby Bonn said they think Renata, 57, despite being tied, somehow wrestled a knife from Jurgen, 55, and stabbed him.
An autopsy indicated he died from a single knife wound, police said Wednesday.
Renata's cries for help were heard by a passer-by who called police. When authorities found Renata and Jurgen's body, the woman showed evidence of abuse, The Local said.
A Bonn police spokesman said the woman wasn't in custody because the investigation so far indicated she acted in self-defense.
