LONDON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Two former top News Corp. officials embroiled in the company's phone hacking scandal won't face trial until next September, a British judge said.

Rebekah Brooks, the one-time editor of News of the World, and Andy Coulson, a former News Corp. official who left to become British Prime Minister David Cameron's director of communications, are two of 14 employees at the Rupert Murdoch-owned British tabloid charged in the scandal, the Guardian reported.

The group is charged with conspiring to hack phones after an undercover investigation found employees at the newspaper routinely entered people's voice mail inboxes without their knowledge to gain scoops on a hot story. Others in the group are charged with helping cover up the practice, The Guardian said.

They face another court hearing in December.
