Mob chops man to death after burning house

FALMOUTH, Jamaica, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A mob angry over the killing of two children hacked a street cleaner to death, wounded his daughter and burned down their house, police in Jamaica said.

Donovan Hazley, 43, was the victim of an angry mob that suspected a young male member of his family was involved in the deaths of 10-year-old Alex Brown and 7-year-old Javani Brown, The Gleaner newspaper reported Tuesday.

The naked bodies of the boys were found near a river last Thursday, five days after they were reported missing from their home on the outskirts of Falmouth.

A police source told The Gleaner there are rumors the boys were sexually assaulted before being killed.

"There are signs to indicate the boys may have been injured before they died, Jamaica's Constabulary Communications Network said.

A team has been established to conduct an in-depth investigation into the matter.
