Officials said three people in the vehicle died instantly.

It was the first drone strike inside Pakistan since protests erupted over an anti-Islam video produced in the United States and posted online.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar is currently in Washington to discuss a range of issues, including the drone strikes, which Pakistan considers violations of its sovereignty.
