KABUL, Afghanistan, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Insurgents killed a member of the NATO force Saturday in eastern Afghanistan, military officials said.

The nationality of the soldier and the circumstances of the death were not released, Khaama Press reported. The International Security Assistance Force issued only a brief statement announcing the death.

ISAF and Afghan security officials announced Friday that a Taliban leader was arrested Tuesday in Helmand province. The leader, who uses the names Gran Agha and Khudaidad, is believed to be head of a unit engaged in attacks on coalition forces.
