JERUSALEM, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The Jerusalem District Court rejected a request from a Muslim member of Parliament to temporarily ban the online availability of an anti-Muslim film.
Knesset member Talab el-Sana and several Muslim clerics in Israel had asked for a temporary injunction to prevent the viewing of the film "Innocence of Muslims," which has sparked protests throughout the Middle East, on the Internet, the Israeli news agency Ynetnews reported.
A temporary injunction would have prevented Internet users in Israel from seeing the film while the court considered whether to issue a permanent ban. The judge decided Thursday to postpone a ruling until Google Inc. submitted a response, the news agency said.
Google owns YouTube, the Internet website where a portion of the inflammatory film first appeared.
