BAGHDAD, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- At least seven people died and 24 were injured Monday in a suicide bombing at the gate of the International Zone in Baghdad Monday, security officials said.

Security personnel said the car bomb targeted one of the entrances to the so-called Green Zone near a bridge, IraqiNews.com reported.

The Green Zone is home to Iraqi government buildings and several foreign embassies.

Officials said no one initially claimed responsibility for the blast.
