HAVANA, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Power was being restored to Havana, Cuba, and other areas Monday after a transmission line went down, plunging millions of people into darkness, officials said.
On Sunday, at least 2 million people in Havana lost electricity and residents outside of Cuba's capital said they were without power as well, CNN reported.
The Web site of the state-run newspaper Trabajadores reported an outage on a transmission line between Ciego de Avila and Santa Clara affected service from the western side of the island to the center.
