ANOSY, Madagascar, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Villagers using stones, spears and arrows in Anosy, Madagascar, killed more than 60 suspected cattle rustlers, police said.

Organized gangs stealing the highly prized commodity is a recurring problem in Madagascar. The BBC reported Monday the massacre in the village 620 miles south of the capital of Antananarivo.

In a separate incident more than 10 more people were killed in a clash between security forces and cattle thieves, it said.
