GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Taliban militants Friday killed five kidnapped Afghan civilians in eastern Afghanistan, officials said.

The militants abducted the five civilians from their homes in Ghazni province Thursday night, Khaama Press reported.

Engineer Abdul Latif, a commander of the anti-Taliban uprising forces whose home was set on fire during the incident, said the five civilians who were taken did not have ties to the anti-Taliban movement.

Taliban officials have yet to comment on the incident.
