The 94th Garrison Military Court sentenced special service Capt. Alexei Ustimchuk for the kidnapping of Ivan Kaspersky, whose father, Eugene, is the chief executive officer of Kaspersky Lab, on April 19 and holding him until April 24, RASPI, the Russian Legal Information Agency, reported.
Ustimchuk, along with four accomplices, demanded a $4.3 million ransom for Ivan Kaspersky's return, the report said
The suspects were apprehended as part of special police operation in a Moscow suburb, RIA Novosti reported.
Ustimchuk, who was accused of organizing the kidnapping, was tried separately from other suspects in the case. He was charged with kidnapping and extortion.
The other suspects are awaiting trial.
