Quake shakes Sicily, mainland Italy

ROME, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- A 4.6-magnitude earthquake rumbled in the Strait of Messina Wednesday between mainland Italy and Sicily, officials said.

Civil protection officials said the earthquake was felt on both sides of the strait, including Reggio Calabria on the mainland, and Scilla, Villa San Giovanni and Campo Calabro on the Sicilian island, ANSA reported.

Officials said they received no reports of injuries or damage.
