All 7 trapped Chinese miners rescued

BEIJING, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- All seven workers trapped for nearly 48 hours in an underground coal mine in China following an accident were rescued early Wednesday, authorities said.

The miners walked out of the mine in northern Shanxi province, assisted by their rescuers, and were later taken for medical observation, Xinhua News Agency reported.

A total of 13 workers were in the Nuanquan coal mine when its roof collapsed Monday, trapping seven of them. The other six were pulled up by the rescuers, the report said.
