BAGHDAD, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Four people were killed Friday in Baghdad and four in the northern city of Mosul, including three soldiers, Iraqi officials said.

Police said four men were found shot to death in Mosul as well, Press TV in Iran reported. Middle East Online said the four appeared to have been killed Thursday.

In Baghdad, a mosque in the Sadr City neighborhood was targeted by mortar fire as worshippers were leaving Friday prayers, Press TV said. Four people died and at least 11 were injured, including Nasser al-Saadi, an official in Moqtada Sadr's organization.

In Mosul, three soldiers were killed by a bomb. A fourth man was gunned down.
