Earthquake strikes off Hokkaido coast

HOKKAIDO, Japan, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Hokkaido in the Okhotsk Sea, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported Tuesday.

The quake's depth was reported at 366 miles, the meteorological agency said.

No tsunami alert was issued and there were no early reports of damage.
