Milwaukee bra ban overturned
ABUJA, Nigeria, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Nigeria should make social and economic changes to deal with violence and unrest, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the country's president.
Clinton met with President Goodluck Jonathan Thursday in the capital of Abuja during a two-week tour of the African continent, Voice of America reported.
Although her comments to the president were not made public, a person traveling with Clinton said the secretary was expected to push for a strategy to deal with the poverty and sense of marginalization believed to be at the root of attacks by the radical Islamic group Boko Haram in which more than 1,000 people have died.
Clinton later traveled to Ghana to meet with the country's new president, John Mahama, and attended the funeral of his predecessor, John Atta Mills, who died last month.
