BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A humanitarian organization in Argentina said it has located the 106th child who was abducted during the country's 1976-1983 military dictatorship.
Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo said Pablo Javier Gaona Miranda's birth parents disappeared during the so-called "dirty war" in May 1978 when he was only 1 month old, The Argentine Independent reported.
A spokeswoman for the group, Estela de Carlotto, said the infant was given to a retired colonel and his wife but always knew he was not their biological child.
His parents, both active in a Peronist youth organization, disappeared after attending a party celebrating the independence of Paraguay on May 14, 1978.
Now 34 years old, he sought information on his birth parents and was referred to Argentina's National Commission for the Right to Identity, La Capital reported.
"Today Pablo can be found with his uncles, cousins and a grandmother who is 82," said Carlotto.
