Russian morgue full, bodies in street

LUG, Russia, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- After bodies were found on a street near a hospital in Lug, near Leningrad, Russia, officials blamed a lack of space and time at the local morgue.

The situation was promptly resolved, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

Several bodies were temporarily left in the street because the morgue "lacked space," and morgue managers said they were "overwhelmed with work" and had no time to bring the bodies inside, a preliminary inquiry discovered.

Police said Thursday they had begun an investigation to learn if formal charges should be made.
