STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 28 (UPI) -- More than 100 Bulgarian migrant workers who were stranded in Sweden are making their way home, officials said.

The Bulgarians were lured to Sweden with false promises of seasonal working picking berries, The Local.se reported Saturday.

Since then, they had been living in makeshift camps on the outskirts of Stockholm while they waited for Sweden and Bulgaria to figure out how to get them home.

On Friday, officials in the two countries were given a green light to put the stranded migrant workers on buses back to Bulgaria.
