JERUSALEM, July 22 (UPI) -- The Israeli military said no one was hurt Sunday when shots were fired at a bus carrying Israeli soldiers near the Egyptian border.

The bus suffered some damage in the gunfire, but there were no casualties, the Israeli Defense Forces said.

It was not known who fired on the bus as it traveled along Route 10 near Har Sagi; however, it was the latest in a series of sporadic clashes along the Israel-Egypt border.

Haaretz said two unarmed men were shot last week as they apparently tried to sneak into Israel. An Israeli man working on a fence along the border was killed in an apparent terrorist bombing last month.
