NATO soldier killed by IED in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, July 13 (UPI) -- A NATO service member was killed Friday by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, military officials said.

A statement from the International Security Assistance Force said the soldier died following an improvised-explosive device attack but did not provide the precise location or the victim's identification or nationality, Khaama Press reported.

Khaama Press said at least 237 NATO service members -- 177 from the United States, 28 from Britain and 32 from other countries -- have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012.
