SANAA, Yemen, July 12 (UPI) -- Security was tightened Thursday in Sanaa, Yemen, hours following a suspected al-Qaida suicide bomb attack that killed 10 police cadets and injured 20 others.
Security forces inspected cars and motorbikes, and also conducted pat-downs following Wednesday's attack at the Police College as students were leaving the campus, officials said.
Security officials said the bomber was wounded in the incident and taken to a hospital but died several hours later, the Yemen Post reported.
The Post also reported al-Qaida in Arab Peninsula ordered its followers to use motorcycles rather than four-wheel vehicles, to avoid using cell phones and to use code names while on the Internet. AQAP said it sent the alert after suspected U.S. drone air attacks killed a number of AQAP leaders in recent months.
The Yemeni Interior Ministry Tuesday warned of possible terrorist attacks against embassies and state buildings, and ordered tighter security at the installations.
