LONDON, July 12 (UPI) -- Eva Rausing may have been dead for days in her London mansion before her husband's arrest led to the discovery of her body, police said Wednesday.
The body was found in a bedroom of the couple's Belgravia home after Hans Kristian Rausing, 49, was picked up for erratic driving Monday. The Metropolitan Police said investigators were still trying to determine when Eva Rausing died, The Independent reported.
Hans Kristian Rausing is a member of the Swedish family that owns Tetra Pak, the food processing and packaging giant. He and his wife both had longstanding drug problems.
After his arrest, Hans Kristian Rausing was released to a hospital in South London.
Eva Rausing was the daughter of an executive at Pepsi. The couple, who had four children, were well known as philanthropists.
In 2007, Eva Rausing reflected on her life and her drug addiction in an entry on MySpace.
"I don't work but probably should," she said. "Or at least think of a constructive way of using my life. I fell back into the same hole as before and have been there for nearly seven years."
