GALKAYO, Somalia, July 12 (UPI) -- A team from International Aid Services was attacked and kidnapped in Puntland, Somalia, the agency said.
Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, an armed group attacked the relief workers near Galkayo. They were traveling in two vehicles with three armed police officers who were overpowered by the assailants.
In a press release, International Aid Services said one staff member was shot and critically injured, while two Kenyan expatriates were kidnapped. The agency is in contact with authorities in Galkayo.
