DETMOLD, Germany, July 10 (UPI) -- The only hope for freedom for a German man convicted of child molestation would be chemical castration, a judge said.
Judge Michael Reinecke told the 28-year-old defendant the only way he could become eligible for release is if he elects to undergo hormone treatment to remove his sex drive, The Local.de reported.
"Only when you do that will you get your freedom again," he said. Reinecke sentenced the man to 11 years in prison Monday for the abuse and rape of three boys between the ages of eight months and four years old. All three victims were placed in his care while he was a babysitter in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The man was convicted in 2008 of possession of child pornography and sentenced to a year and eight months in prison.
He was convicted again in 2010 for sexually abusing his partner's young son, for which he served four years and three months. The Local.de reported at that time he demonstrated a willingness to change his ways
