ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, July 8 (UPI) -- A Pakistani opposition party said its march protesting the reopening of NATO supply lines will reach the capital Islamabad on Monday.

Express News said the march organized by the Difa-i-Pakistan Council got under way in Lahore Sunday as a protest against the agreement that reopened the roads connecting Pakistan and Afghanistan to NATO convoys.

The DPC called on Pakistani truckers to refuse to handle NATO cargo because it would be an "un-Islamic act."

The News International said leaders of the protest called the agreement to re-open the supply lines a backroom deal with the United States that cut Parliament out of the process.

DPC party officials said Sunday the march to Islamabad would be followed up by similar demonstrations between other Pakistani cities.
