SAMUT SAKHON, Thailand, June 27 (UPI) -- The operator of an illegal tour bus in Thailand stabbed a British tourist when he confronted the bus driver over items missing from his wallet, officials said.
Leigh Banks, 36, was wounded in his left torso Wednesday in Samut Sakton after he confronted the driver, who has yet to be identified, about valuables missing from the wallet he left on the bus, which contained U.S. dollars and his passport, MCOT online news reported.
The incident is the second noteworthy attack on tourists in Thailand in seven days. Michelle Smith, a 60-year-old Australian travel agent, was murdered June 20 at the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort. Surasak Suwannachote, 26, and Surin Thatthong, 37, were arrested for the murder and were denied bail.
