Greek PM Samaras to have eye surgery

ATHENS, Greece, June 22 (UPI) -- Antonis Samaras, Greece's newly elected prime minister, will undergo surgery for a detached retina, a health official said Friday.

The director of Attiko Hospital's eye clinic in Athens said Samaras would have the surgery Saturday.

Samaras suffered the retina detachment Friday, Ekathimerini reported.

He was elected prime minister Sunday.
