BEIRUT, Lebanon, June 16 (UPI) -- Two Lebanese government Web sites were hacked Saturday by a group associated with Anonymous, the online hacking organization, police said.
Police said the group Raise Your Voice breached the site of Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, The Daily Star in Beirut reported.
Officials said a message on the Web sites read, "When will the electricity come?" in Arabic.
The message also read, "Do you have electricity? You ministers? Why does everything fall on the people only? We don't want any more promises, we've had enough! Go on, give us electricity." The message also had a cartoon of a thin man dressed in rags feeding a fat man in a bad-fitting suit.
The group was protesting Lebanon's electricity shortage that results in frequent power outages outside of the country's capital, the Star said. Even though Beirut has 21 hours of power a day, other areas have as few as three hours of electricity a day.
In April, Raise Your Voice hacked Web sites belonging to the Lebanese ministries of foreign affairs, justice and labor, among others.
