Three killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI, Pakistan, June 5 (UPI) -- Three people were killed and five were injured in separate incidents in Karachi Tuesday, police said.

The Tuesday deaths bring the city's death toll to 15 in the past 24 hours, New Network International reported.

Police said Head Constable Ali Hussain of the Criminal Investigation Department was targeted by gunman in Old Vegetable Market near his residence while the the two others killed were found in the Sarjani Town and Gulshan-e-Sheraz areas.

Five people, including two women and two police personnel, were injured in sporadic firing incidents in the Malir, Kharadar and Teenhati areas, police said.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Rangers said they arrested 13 suspected criminals in Sindh.
