ATHENS, Greece, May 26 (UPI) -- Cable thieves caused major delays Saturday for passengers on one rail line out of the Greek capital.

Diesel engines had to be put to work on one section of the suburban line from the Athens airport to Corinth and the Peloponnese because of the missing cable, Ekathimerini reported. Railway workers discovered the theft late Friday.

Until the electrical cables are replaced, passengers will have to change trains twice, from electric to diesel and then back again.
