Quebec students strip-searched during exam

ANKARA, Turkey, May 25 (UPI) -- Ten villagers in a predominantly Kurdish province in Turkey were kidnapped by members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, residents said.
They told Turkey's Hurriyet Daily News the nine men and one woman were abducted earlier this week in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.
The party, known as the PKK and labeled a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States, reportedly threatened to kill the 10 if villagers told security officials of the kidnappings, Today's Zaman reported Friday.
The PKK has been waging war in Turkey's southeast since 1984.
