SANAA, Yemen, May 25 (UPI) -- Yemen LNG said Friday repairs have been completed on a pipeline that transports natural gas from Mareb province to its plant in Shabwa.
Operations on the pipeline had been halted April 26 after it was damaged in attacks by tribes linked to al-Qaida, officials said.
The Yemen Post said Yemen LNG had to cancel six gas shipments because of the attacks.
French based Total E&P owns 39.62 percent of Yemen LNG. Its partners include Hunt, Yemen Gas Co., SK Innovation Co., Korea Gas Corp., Hyundai Corp. and the General Authority for Social Security & Pensions.
The project exports about 6.7 metric tons of gas a year, mainly to Asia.
Yemen's economy depends largely on its oil and gas revenues.
